SANDAKAN, Aug 18 — Malaysia has pledged to halt new oil palm plantations in forest areas to support sustainability and maintain the current forest cover of 54 per cent.

KUCHING, June 12 — For almost three decades, Malaysia has successfully fulfilled its pledge to maintain at least 50 per cent of its land mass under forest and tree cover, said Deputy Minister of Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change, Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii.
